First Annual Cathedral Village Les Sherman Snow Sculpture Event!
Help spread winter cheer and fill Les Sherman Park with snow people! This event is open from December 12th - January 3rd and is open to all ages. Build a snow sculpture in the park and tag us (@PlayYQR on Instagram or Facebook, @CathedralAreaCA on Twitter) or use the hashtags #YQRWinterFun #PlayYQR #Cathedral to be entered to win a grand prize basket filled with a children's library of winter-theme books and items from local Cathedral Village businesses. Check back on this webpage for more details about the prize basket! This event is in partnership with the Cathedral Area Community Association. We are grateful for their work in fostering a vibrant, playful neighbourhood in the Cathedral Village.
Cathedral Village Gift Basket Sponsors
We are so appreciative of all of the local businesses in the Cathedral Village neighbourhood. The Cathedral Village is a hub of local businesses who care greatly for their community. We hope that people visiting the Cathedral Village to build their snow sculptures might visit some of the lovely local shops around the village (regardless of if they have donated an item towards the prize basket). It has certainly been a challenging year for small business owners and staff. We are thankful for the generosity from those who have contributed items towards this prize basket to encourage play and winter cheer in their community in the midst of such hardship. The donations continue to come in, so check this webpage frequently for updates! The prize basket (so far) includes the following:
